Floral Design Assistant

Location: Sparks/Reno, NV

Job Type

Full-Time, Monday - Friday

Position Overview

As a family-owned business and Northern Nevada's premier florist, we exist to spark joy and infuse every moment with genuine care, creating connection and cultivating community through flowers.

The Floral Design Assistant I is the Operational Cornerstone of our production team. You are the vital starting point of our chain of excellence; if your work isn't done to standard, the Design Team cannot succeed. This role focuses on Craftsmanship & Growth, mastering the science of floral care, and Unifying Trust by ensuring the cooler is stocked, organized, and ready for action. You are essential to ensuring every bloom we send out is fresh, hydrated, and ready to impress.

Note: We train from the roots up! This role serves as the foundational starting point for all our future Floral Sales & Design Associates, with opportunities to cross-train as positions become available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Care (Craftsmanship): Receive, unpack, and process fresh floral products using our specialized three-solution hydration process to ensure maximum longevity. You are the guardian of flower quality.
  • Operational Readiness (Unifying Trust): Proactively stage flowers, clean buckets, and organize the cooler. You ensure the designers never have to stop working to find what they need.
  • Production Goals: Create hand-tied bouquets for our "12 Months of Flowers" program, adhering to specific recipes and quality standards.
  • Cooler Management (Empowered Ownership): Maintain strict cooler organization and cleanliness protocols to protect our product inventory.
  • Plant Maintenance: Assist with the maintenance of plants, ensuring proper watering and grooming.
  • Team Support: Assist in the preparation and staging of flowers for designers and clean tools/equipment to keep operations running smoothly.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Values Alignment: A deep understanding of Unifying Trust—realizing that your reliability dictates the success of the entire team.
  • Work Ethic: Ability to work fast and accurately; you understand that you set the pace for the day.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40 lbs (water buckets/boxes), and work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Technical: Proficient with basic technology and Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
  • Requirements: Valid Nevada driver's license, clean DMV report, and ability to pass a drug test.
  • Safety Sensitive Position: Due to the use of heavy-duty floral blades, delivery vehicles, and lifting requirements, this is classified as a safety-sensitive position. You must have the ability to pass a mandatory pre-employment drug test
  • Schedule & Availability: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime during peak floral seasons (Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, etc.).

Compensation

Pay from $13.00 per hour
